Tom Petty dies at age 66

Tom Petty passed away at the age of 66. The legendary musician was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after he was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest.

Tony Dimitriades, his longtime manager, said in a statement that Mr. Petty suffered cardiac arrest in his home in Malibu, California., early Monday morning and was taken to the U.C.L.A. Medical Center, where he could not be revived.” Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers recently completed a summer tour with three nights at the Hollywood Bowl. The tour marked the band’s 40th anniversary. During his career Petty released 13 studio albums and won three Grammys. He played the Super Bowl halftime show in 2008 and entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
