Whole Foods prices going down thanks to Amazon

Amazon says its acquisition of Whole Foods Market will be complete on Monday August 28, 2017, and they’re lowering some prices immediately. This week’s press release named organic apples and avocados, salmon and tilapia, organic large brown eggs, lean ground beef and almond butter as some of the products that will soon be more affordable. It was also announced that Amazon Prime will eventually become the customer rewards program at Whole Foods, meaning Prime customers will have special savings and other in-store benefits. Amazon lockers will soon be in Whole Foods stores, and Whole Foods private label products—including 365 Everyday Value, Whole Foods Market, Whole Paws and Whole Catch—will be available online via Amazon. This Amazon/Whole Foods relationship is shaping up to look pretty appealing already.
