GAME OF THRONES breaks EMMY RECORD with 32 NOMINATIONS

Game of Thrones set a new Emmy record on Tuesday, earning the most nominations in a single year by any drama series. The eighth and final season earned 32 nominations total. The fan favorite earned four of the six supporting actress nominations. Kit Harrington earned a nomination for Lead Actor for the first time. Peter Dinklage who has won three Emmy for his role on the HBO hit earned another nod for outstanding supporting actor. 

The Big Bang Theory did not earn any Emmy acting nominations and failed to receive a nod for best comedy series for its final season. Jim Parsons has won outstanding actor in a comedy series four times for his role as Sheldon Cooper.  The series earned three nominations in technical categories for its final episode. Those nominations bring the show’s total number of nods to 49 with 10 wins. 

Orange is the New Black a former Emmy favorite only earned one nomination on Tuesday. Laverne Cox earned a nod for outstanding guest actress in a drama series for her work on the Netflix series.
