KATY PERRY announces her DEPARTURE from AMERICAN IDOL

Katy Perry announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that season 22 of American Idol will be her last. Perry said, “I mean, I love ‘Idol’ so much.” She continued, “It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat.” Kimmel asked how her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie took the news, and Katy replied, “Well, they’ll find out tonight! “ Perry added, “I love the show so much, but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music.”

Russell Simmons is being sued for allegedly raping a former DefJam Recording Executive in the late 90’s. The woman who is identified only as Jane Doe claims that Simmons pinned her down and raped her in his apartment. She says her career was stalled by Simmons’ systematic harassment of her. She resigned in 1997 shortly following the incident. Simmons previously faced a lawsuit for an alleged rape in 2018 before it was dismissed in 2020. He also has been accused of sexual misconduct by at least 20 women. Simmons has “vehemently” denied all those claims.
