Beyonce’s film Lemonade is up for four awards. It was nominated as a whole for Outstanding Variety Special and for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety, Nonfiction, Event or Award Special. Beyonce herself along with director Kahlil Joseph are nominated in the Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special Category. The fourth nomination was for Outstanding Picture Editing.
The Americans finally landed its first nomination for Best Drama Series for its fourth season. Stars Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell also each scored their first nominations in the drama series acting categories.
Some surprising snubs. Hardly any Emmy love for Orange is the New Black. Only one nomination this year and it was for casting. Lady Gaga was not nominated for her work on American Horror Story: Hotel.
