San Diego COMIC-CON IS CANCELLED

Comic-Con International has been officially cancelled due to concerns about the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. This will be the first time in SDCC’s 50-year history that it will not take place. The pop culture celebration is held annually in San Diego and drew an estimated crowd of 135,000 attendees last year. “Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures and while we are saddened to take this action, we know it is the right decision,” SDCC spokesman David Glanzer said in a statement. “We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all meet again and share in the community we all love and enjoy.” This year’s Comic-Con was originally scheduled to take place between July 23-26. The event will instead return to the San Diego Convention Center from July 22-25, 2021.

Sharon Stone revealed that she had a nurse take people’s temperature as they arrived at her 62nd birthday during her appearance on No Filter with Naomi. “I had a doctor and a nurse come early and check all of the catering people, and the wait staff as they arrived ,” Stone said. “And then I had a nurse at the door taking temperature, and this was March 8th. I just thought we had to be super careful.” Stone added, “I took my kids out of school early. I started self-quarantining early.”

Johnny Depp joined Instagram on Thursday. The Pirates of the Caribbean star already has over one million followers. “Hello everyone… filming something for you now… gimme a minute,” he captioned a photo of himself surrounded by candles. Then, an eight-minute video arrived introducing his  cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation,” recorded with Jeff Beck.  “The profundity of his lyrics seem to Jeff and me especially fitting for what’s happening right now. The song’s about isolation, fear, and the existential risk to our world, so we wanted to give the song to you,” Depp said. He also urged fans to “care for one another” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
